Under His Wings Respite - February 13th, April 9th, July 30th, October 5th
Five times a year, we provide a respite for families of individuals with special needs, such as Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, etc. We are in need of volunteers ages 13 years and older to staff these events. Our volunteers buddy up with one of our special needs individuals or their sibling, and together they enjoy various activities and entertainment while their caregivers get a much needed break.
Each respite requires 35 - 40 volunteers in order to accommodate the families wishing to participate. The events are held at Collins United Methodist Church, 4290 Hartland Center Road, Collins, Ohio. As soon as the next Respite is scheduled, it will be posted here. It takes place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Our volunteers are asked to arrive by 3:15 p.m. to register and spend some time becoming familiar with the needs of the individual they will be a buddy to.We do ask that all volunteers register in advance. This can be done by going to our website, www.underhiswingsrespite.com and selecting the Get Involved tab and selecting Volunteer Application. We also can send written applications if that would work better for everyone.
Food Bank: See Mrs. Avendano to have your name put on the text list.

When Pigs Fly - the downtown store is always in need of help. Stop in and sign up for a time to help.
Area Nursing Homes are also always in need of people to visit. Residents love to see and talk to young people, they especially love to share their stories and wisdom!
